Blogroll from Japan: Day2

By 7h3d4rkw0lf on Aug 3, 2011

I STILL CAN\'T TYPE WITH THIS GODDAMN KEYBOARD

Anyways, Day TWO! (Though it\'s day 3 for me, I\'m just updating it in the morning)

So Day 2, had some fun here and there, mainly eating sushi for both lunch and dinner :3 My grandparents just love to spoil me, not that I\'m complaining.

So if you haven\'t seen the links already, I\'ll be uploading and sorting all my photos

Day two purchases
These are day two food stuff
Final link for scenery and things of the like from day2

Anyways, so yesterday, my highlight of the day was probably my purchases of mangos. More specifically:
* The World God Only Knows volumes 12+13 (13 even came with an Elsie clock!)

Touhou Bougetsushou Silent Sinner in Blue Volumes 1 + 3 (I already had 2)

Touhou Sangetsushou Bright and Eastern Nature Deity (I now have all 3 volumes)

HELVETICA STANDARDDDDD(yes, theres a MANGA on it, and I BOUGHT IT)

TO ARU KAGAKU NO RAILGUN VOLUMES 6 OHHHH YEAHHH MISAKAAAA GO!*

ok so i went to eat breakfast and as i left, i skipped upwards, and slammed my head into the ledge above the door ._. why are these ceilings and ledges so low (then again, 5\' 10\" is pretty damn tall for a jap)

Anyways,

Aside from my lovely purchases, my aunt, who\'s a dog trainer, came over :D

She had a Saint Bernese Mountain Dog and a Belgian Sheperd. They are. FREAKING. HUGE. (pics are in the link)

Going for a bit to the helvetica standard, I think that Helvetica is a spin off of Nichijou, and KyoAni just decided to animate it under the same name. Though I have to say, I read the entire thing last night, it\'s got some pretty funny moments.

Another point on Helvetica, there are a LOT of scenes that are from Helvetica, but isn\'t labeled as so in the anime. Eg, the first scene in ep 1, that\'s from helvetica (I don\'t feel like doing anything!) as well as the gramps(vice principal) and his grandson bits (super fast baseball, personal seal searching)

Anyways, today I\'ll be going to the Yamaha headquarters to see Keiko Abe play live (world famous marimba player) so I\'ll probably end up buying myself new mallets as well. I\'ve been in need of brass mallets for awhile.

End rant from w0lf

Blogroll from Japland: Day1

By 7h3d4rkw0lf on Aug 2, 2011

So I`m stupid and had like 10 paragraphs written, then accidentally clicked back so i lost all of it

hurray oh, and I`m going to be spamming the main ahodomo page with these until msm595 makes the staff blog :P We love you, msm595

no punctuations and terrible spelling+grammar, hurray!

Okay though, seriously.

I`m like, in japland visiting family now, csb、amirite?

So, like, like, like, like, I`m like, being a cool bro and hanging out with my grandparents right now. Pretty chill. Got some dericious yaki-zakana last night (grilled fish? fried? roasted? idk) and that was like, totally tasty.

Ill have tons of pics up later, but my mom hid the damn usb connector for the cam... or rather, doesnt remember where she put it. Oh, did I mention that I have no memory card reader available? ._.

So like, I slept about 9 hours of the 14 hour flight, and while I was awake I played some touhuuuuu, stepmania, Advance Wars(DS), taiko no tatsujin(DS)(FUCKYAR) the FUCKING SMEXY OREIMO PSP VN GAME THING (I Think I`ll go for the FTW incestual relation with Kirino. Dat voice. Dat ass... wait...) Oh, and I also read some light novels (Spice and Wolf)

Drive back to grandparents home was pretty cash, had some takoyaki, Mos Burger (think BK of Japan, except 9000x superior just cuz its jap), drive itself took about 2 hours.

Yo, like, I`d totally forgotten how fucking awesome japanese ofuro was, like how the hell have I been taking showers everyday for the past 4 years since I last came back to visit famiry, seriously. So relaxing.

Oh, did I mention my netbook doesnt have internets cuz theres no router and my portable Tenda W150M mini router thing likes to derp on me? ;_;

In other news, I`m going to some book stores to buy mango in like, an hour. Gonna get me some mangos. Wait, that was redundant.

Oh, and I woke up at 3AM in the morning. Did I mention I went to bed at TEN FRIGGIN PM?

This is turning into a boring rant of my life in Japland. Hurray!

Unfortunate News, As Well As Good Ones

By 7h3d4rkw0lf on Jul 10, 2011

Well, maybe, maybe not.

Bad News Part

We\'re going to drop Ikoku Meiro no Croisee for the summer season.

Why? Simple. We\'re just way too understaffed. There\'s only so much that 5 people, who are mostly high school students with a lot of other time commitments, can do as far as subbing goes.

Yeah, just 5 of us were trying to sub 3 shows in one season. It\'s like trying to climb Mt. Everest in your damn boxers and with toothpicks for icepicks. Sure, you can try. You\'re just damn likely to fall short along the way.

Anyways, we still love the show, we love Yune, we love everything about it. It\'s just of our three shows, Ikoku has the least obligations for us.

We can\'t drop Ro Kyu Bu because we\'re doing a joint with EveTaku and it\'d simply be selfish and bastardly on our end to drop it.

Can\'t drop Nichijou because I won\'t allow it. I\'ve spent way too damn much time on this show to let it best us halfway through. (Not to mention it\'s our first \"real\" show\" that we picked up. It\'s got it\'s worth.)

Sort of Better News Part

In other new though, we\'re going to be completely revamping the way our team works.

\"What the hell does that mean?\" you ask?

Simple, I\'m going to have everyone relearn the way we sub. Everyone starts from square one. Everyone improves their skill. Everyone improves their speed. I realize that our recent releases have been dropping quality, so much to the point that I was forced to release a v0 for our latest release of Nichijou. This all going to change.

I\'m not going to say you\'ll see changes next week. No, that\'s simply unrealistic. But, I\'ll make damn sure that whatever happens, you\'ll only see improvements from here on out. Think of our Nichijou 15 as our rock bottom point. Things will only improve from there.

Many things have been factors in my recent changes of attitudes. Before, I was a gung-ho! type of person, steaming full speed ahead and not giving a damn about what most haters said. I mean, that\'s nice in a sense, but it won\'t work in some cases.

Anyways, I\'ve already deleted like 10 paragraphs because they were just me ranting, but point being.

We\'re at a shaky point in our subbing career, but we\'ll be back with nothing but improvements.
